See-Security's Envario provides ready-made VMs such as a DC, workstations and FortiGate. Knowing the procedures prevents failures that interrupt practice.

Working rules

  • Keep access details in a secure place.
  • Plan a 30-minute session and read the exercise before starting the environment.
  • Do not shut down a VM; disconnect at the end unless the instructor says otherwise.
  • Access Windows workstations through RDP (mstsc) with the provided details.
  • Use the atlas.lab administrator account only within the exercise scope.
  • For a VM or access problem, contact support rather than changing the infrastructure yourself.

Practice

  • Write the objective, six steps and a success check on one page.
  • Practice RDP, disconnecting and reconnecting without shutting down.
  • Prepare a support request with student ID, VM name, what you tried, the error, a screenshot and the time.

Risks and mitigation

  • Shutting down a VM may lose work and leave the environment unavailable.
  • An unnecessary network, account or service change may break later exercises.
  • The rule: disconnect instead of shutting down, plan instead of improvising, and ask support instead of experimenting.
